CYLINDER HEAD
Stage 2: Gas flowed
This is a service we offer for the 4C.
The standard cylinder head is optimised by Alfa Romeo to give significant turbulence in the combustion chamber, this helps to get a very good burn at low power outputs when the engine is running in stratified charge operation, however it is not optimal for large power outputs.
The gas flowing of the cylinder head and 'knife edging' of the ports adds to top end power by removing some of the disturbance to the air flow. This will add around 25 bhp to the engine output while still maintaining the same boost pressure.
(this is an exchange unit - price includes a £1000.00 + VAT surcharge which will be refunded on return of the old unit).

This active valve system allows the driver to switch from a refined tone to crazy race car loud in an instant and comes with QuickSilvers special carbon sleeved tips to define the look.
The system contains two separate gas paths and an electronic flap-valve decides which path is taken, loud or quiet. This valve is controlled by the QuickSilver APP on the drivers telephone.
In creating their system QuickSilver analyse the sound of the modern car to determine which elements should be suppressed and which enhanced.
The valved Sound Architect systems electronic module needs wiring into the the ignition positive line at the fuse box and the negative line goes straight to the batteries terminal.

Exhaust system with Helmholtz resonator.
This is a straight through system and it uses a resonator to remove the drone at around 80mph. It comes with carbon tips which can be angled as you want.
The system also utilises two different diameter pipes to produce a sound with much more depth than Alfa's race exhaust and at idle it retains a purposeful note where as the Standard system can sound flat and unfinished. We have designed the system so you can remove the Helmholtz resonator and fit the SuperSport right hand pipe on instead for those days you want to make NOISE!

• Our steel con rods are fully machined by Arrow to our specification using double air re-melted 817M40 forgings.
• All rods are shot peened using a fully automated process to increase fatigue strength and durability.
• The rods are balanced end over end into matched engine sets.
• 100% magnaflux crack detected prior to final inspection by CMM in a temperature controlled inspection department.
Our design team worked closely with Arrow using the latest CAD CAM technology to optimise the design for full race applications. As part of the design process, we also worked closely with the fastener manufacturer, ARP, to select the best available bolts for this project. |

Air Filter
K&N performance air filter.
To meet minimum filtration standards, paper air filters must be thick and/or the fibres must be tightly compressed and dense. Therefore paper elements that provide adequate filtration are more restrictive to air flow by design.
Additionally, as a paper filter becomes more and more clogged, the pressure inside the filter drops while the atmospheric air pressure (approximately 14.7 psi at sea level) outside the filter remains the same. It's like using your lungs to draw the air out of a plastic milk bottle. When the pressure differential becomes too great, the bottle will collapse. The same thing could happen to your paper filter, although it is unlikely, but what will happen could be just as severe.
An excessively high pressure differential created by a restricted filter can literally pull dirt particles through the paper medium. In other words, the performance of a paper filter, i.e. air flow through the filter and its ability to protect your engine, DECREASES near the end of its service interval.

POWER STEERING COLUMN
Aftermarket conversion kit
The existing steering rack or box remains unchanged and thus retains the standard steering ratio and setup.
The electric motor only uses power when steering assistance is necessary.
The amount of assistance can be selected by turning a potentiometer, so that the driver can select the desired feel (i.e. more assistance with wider tires).
In the unlikely event that the electric power steering system has a defect, the car would steer exactly like it did prior to power steering conversion.
